Freedom Summer to Inauguration

This show highlights some of the people and events that lead from voter registration drives in the 1960's to the historic inauguration of Barack Obama. Interviews with reporter Jerry Mitchell, organizer and professor Marshall Ganz, Nov 2008 voters, and excerpts from the Pacifica Archives.

Randi Zimmerman produced this program. I contributed interviews with Marshall Ganz and Jerry Mitchell.

  1. Dear Christine Black:
This is my project and I'm looking to hire the right person to help me produce a short recording.
I am a journalist and a dramatist in NYC.
Recently, I wrote a 10-minute play (10 pages long), a short suspense piece for one female voice (i.e., one actress) and two male voices (which could be the voice of one actor).
SOUND CUES: My play has a few simple sound cues: footsteps, a book dropping, a knock on the door, etc.
A college radio station in NYC saw the script and invited me to submit a RECORDING OF IT.
I have access to actors who could read the script.
I would need an audio person to RECORD THE ACTORS, add the sound cues, and make me a couple of copies.
If this sounds like a project you could handle with your equipment, please contact me and let me know your rates. Incidentally, I am not being paid by the college radio station and need to keep the expenses down. Your credit would appear on the recording, of course.

    Sincerely, Mae [CourtingMaeWest.blogspot.com]
